A cardiologia é a área da saúde que estuda o coração e outros componentes do sistema circulatório diagnosticando e tratando suas patologias, assim como em toda área da saúde, existem muitas informações a respeito dela que circulam por aí e que muitas vezes não são verdade. O médico cardiologista Rafael Oliveira da Paixão (CRM PE 17032 / RQE 1784) elencou uma lista com as principais dúvidas sobre cardiologia e esclareceu se elas são mitos ou verdades.
Confira a lista abaixo:
1 – Há diferentes tipos de arritmia?
VERDADE!
Existem arritmias benignas e malignas. As benignas, geralmente, provocam sintomas desagradáveis como palpitações, mas não colocam o paciente sob risco de vida. Já as malignas podem levar o paciente à morte súbita rapidamente. Ambas podem ocorrer também na total ausência de sintomas.
2 – A morte súbita só ocorre se fizer muito esforço físico?
MITO!
A doença acomete indivíduos independentemente da faixa etária ou sexo. A maior porcentagem de ocorrência está no grupo de pessoas que possuem doenças cardíacas, entre os que já sofreram parada cardíaca e naqueles que têm histórico familiar, como pais, avós, tios, irmãos, etc. O exercício físico realizado corretamente e na quantidade adequada, é uma ótima forma de prevenir muitos problemas cardíacos.
3 – Hipertensão é doença apenas de obesos e sedentários
MITO!
Embora seja de origem multifatorial, a hipertensão pode ocorrer em pessoas sem sobrepeso e que praticam atividade física.
4 – Dor no peito é o único sinal de infarto?
MITO!
É o principal, mas não o único. Outros sintomas podem ser equivalentes, como dor semelhante à azia, falta de ar, dor na mandíbula ou nas costas, além de sudorese e náuseas.
5 – A menopausa pode levar as mulheres a um maior risco de problemas cardíacos?
VERDADE!
A menopausa é considerada fator de risco emergente, ou seja, que se soma aos outros riscos cardiovasculares. A menopausa reduz os níveis de estrógeno. O estrógeno baixo reduz a proteção cardiovascular das mulheres.
6 – Coração partido existe?
VERDADE!
Além do elemento figurado, existe a doença do coração partido. Também conhecida como doença de Takotsubo, se caracteriza por alteração da contratilidade cardíaca. É causada por stress mental e com apresentação muito semelhante à do infarto. As mulheres de meia-idade são as principais acometidas.
7 – Ataque cardíaco é a mesma coisa que infarto?
SIM.
O infarto do miocárdio é uma grande causa de mortalidade, principalmente entre hipertensos, diabéticos, fumantes e obesos. É uma emergência médica e o paciente precisa se dirigir imediatamente ao pronto socorro.
8 – Coração não tem relação com emoções
MITO.
Um estudo mostrou que guardar mágoas eleva o risco de infarto do miocárdio. Segundo a pesquisa, o perdão e a fé ajudam na saúde cardiovascular. As mágoas são geradoras de estresse, que provocam reações fisiológicas de defesa no organismo, com liberação de adrenalina e noradrenalina.
9 – O café faz mal ao coração
DEPENDE.
A cafeína deve ser consumida com muita cautela. Apesar de ter polifenol, uma substância antioxidante, que reduz risco de doenças cardíacas, o consumo excessivo pode provocar efeitos adversos ao organismo. Pacientes com alterações cardíacas podem apresentar aumento no nível de colesterol circulante, insônia e, se combinado com açúcar, o cafezinho se torna vilão do diabetes. No entanto, a ingestão de três xícaras de 40 ml por dia, no caso de café expresso, e três de 110 a 150 ml de café filtrado, quando não há restrição médica, não é prejudicial e pode até ser benéfica, reduzindo os níveis elevados de pressão arterial e, também, a mortalidade cardiovascular.
10 – Chocolate é um aliado do coração
DEPENDE.
A ingestão do alimento se relaciona à produção de serotonina e feniletilamina, neurotransmissores ligados ao ânimo e à disposição. Mas o consumo exagerado é prejudicial, já que o chocolate é altamente calórico e tem muita concentração de açúcar. Algumas marcas ainda agregam a gordura trans, perigosa para a saúde. Cada 100 gramas podem conter de 350 a 500 calorias. O chocolate amargo tem efeitos benéficos ao coração: alguns estudos mostram que ele reduz a pressão arterial, além de proteger o órgão do envelhecimento causado por radicais livres.
